Altamonte Weightlifting is a youth instructional program for boys & girls 11 years old and up, dedicated to the development of discipline, self esteem, confidence, and work ethics. Beginners have a great time learning about weight training and walk away with more respect and understanding of exercise, while returning participants, often times competitors; strive to earn high placing at local, state, and national tournaments. All of this is supervised by certified coaches and is done while emphasizing the importance of proper technique, safety, and hard work.
The program is proud to have introduced weight training to many young lives and is most proud of the achievements made by the Altamonte Weightlifting team. In 2006, Head Instructor Danny Camargo was selected as a U.S. Coach and helped lead Team USA's Jr. Group to an international competition in Ecuador. He brings to the program experience, education, and enthusiasm. All participants benefit whether they wish to simply learn about general weight training or wish to compete at local, state, national, or international competitions.
