Central Florida Gliders Track Club
Like to run, jump, or throw? Then join the Central Florida Gliders youth track club based in Altamonte Springs. The Gliders have been successfully training athletes ages eight and up in the Orlando area for the past 18 years. The club competes in local, state, and national competitions and has produced national champions in both track & field and cross-country.
Central Florida Gliders is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) charitable organization serving Central Florida since 1989 with winning tradition of forty-six National Championship Titles.
2010 Central Florida Gliders Spring Track & Field Season
Sign Up Now! The 2010 Central Florida Gliders Spring Track & Field Season starts on Monday, March 1 at 6:00pm with an information session and first practice at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, and ends in August with the 2010 AAU Junior Olympic National Championship in Virginia. The club is available to beginner and experienced athletes, ages eight and up that may sign-up at any practice from now until April 30.
Practices are scheduled for 6:00pm to 7:30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at Sanlando Park, Lake Brantley High School Stadium in Altamonte Springs, or at Trinity Prep in Winter Park.
Events Include: walking, sprints, middle and long distance running, hurdles, throws, jumps, and relays.
The club registration fee for the season is $50.00. Returning high school athletes pay only $15.00. Additional costs may include uniform, meet fees, and AAU and USATF memberships if competing.
The Gliders are always in need of sponsors and volunteers to help with its community outreach programs and events.
