Seniors
The City of Altamonte Springs Special Community Services is devoted to organizing and running activities and programs for senior citizens in Altamonte Springs and surrounding communities. Programs and activities are sponsored by the City of Altamonte Springs. Events take place at either Eastmonte Recreation Center or Westmonte Recreation Centers, and at various venues within Altamonte Springs and throughout Florida.

Senior Health Fair

Senior Computer Skills Classes- “SURF THE NET!”
These are basic and intermediate classes using computers and are held Monday through Thursday at the Altamonte Springs City Library from 8:00am to 10:00am. Please contact Robert McKinniss at (407) 571-8837.
Senior Bowling
The Altamonte Seniors Bowling League meets every Tuesday from 12:00noon to 2:00pm at the Altamonte AMF Bowling Center. Two-person teams make the competition fun! The season is from early September until mid-May each year. The cost is $6.50 per person and $4.00 for shoes, with a portion saved for a luncheon at the end of the season and prizes awarded to the first and second place teams.
Senior Bocce League
This fun and relaxing sport is played on the bocce courts at Westmonte Recreation Center on Wednesday and Friday mornings from 10:00am until … Instruction is available to anyone interested in joining. This program has a $10.00 league fee each year.
Senior Card League
Held every Wednesday from 10:00am to 4:00pm at the Eastmonte Recreation Center - Civic Center. Cost is $1.00 per month.
TRIPS
Day Trips
We have a day-trip every month (except during the summer) and a multi-day trip twice a year. Prior registration and payment is required; tickets and transportation are provided to points of interest and attractions. All trips depart from the Eastmonte Civic Center.
- January 21 – Phantom of the Opera at the Bob Carr – 12:30 pm to 5:00 pm
Cost is $70.00 which includes orchestra seating and transportation. - February 11 – Seminole Hard Rock in Tampa – 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Cost is $25 which includes transportation, $25 in free play and a $5 meal voucher. - March 11 – Strawberry Festival in Plant City – 8:00 am to 6:30 pm
Cost is $50 including Oak Ridge Boys concert tickets or $35 without the concert. Both prices include admission and transportation. - April 15 – Hart Sisters Tea Room in Sanford – 10 am to 4:00 pm
Cost is $45 and includes Victorian Tea offering and transportation. - May 13 – St. Augustine Premium Outlets – 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Cost is $25 and includes transportation.
Multi–Day Trips
- April 26 through 30, 2010 – 4 night Bahamas Cruise from Port Canaveral
